We recommend that if you have a blog you would like to submit to all appropriate web indexes available, first check the "Categories" sidebar to see if we have already identified a selection of directories that only cater to your topic. So, for example, if you write a blog about music, first look at our 'Band/Music Blog Indexes', as those will be the most directly helpful for you. After looking through those specific indexes, check out our 'All-Category Blog Indexes', as those are blog directories that cover a wide range of subjects and will most probably have your topic as a sub-category.

Why Blog Indexes Are Important

As any weathered blogger can tell you, one way to gauge a website's success is by its popularity. Obviously, there is hardly a point in spending time blogging if no-one ever reads what you have written. This is where blog indexes come in; these indexes allow you to post a link to (and usually a description of) your blog for all the world to see, in categories that people will be able to specifically search for. They basically act as free advertising for your website. Clearly, then, the more blog indexes you put your site on, the more chances of exposure your website will receive, and the more people will be able to find your site.
